Hints and Tips for
Using PIP 2.0

PIP 2.0 is a web-based system designed to be intuitive and user-friendly.
However, based on feedback, we have identified a few helpful tips to
improve your user experience on the site.

Tip 1: Searching by Part Number

The PIP 2.0 search functionality is optimised for word-based search terms rather than part numbers. If you need to locate a specific part number, please follow these steps:

Enter the full part number in the search bar.

Press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon  to execute the search.

If you do not press Enter or click the icon, the dynamic search feature will display the message: “Unfortunately, we cannot find any matching products to your selection.”

When searching by part number, ensure the following:

  • Correct spacing: Include all spaces exactly as they appear in the part number.
  • No hyphens: Do not include any “–” between sections of the part number.

If the part is available in PIP, it will appear in the results once these conditions are met.

Tip 2: Searching by Product Name

The word-based search functionality in PIP 2.0 allows you to search using any relevant term. As you type, the system will dynamically return suggested results that may match your query.

Best Practice:

  • Use clear and specific keywords related to the product name or description.
  • Avoid unnecessary characters or symbols, as these may affect search accuracy.
  • Review the dynamic suggestions before pressing Enter—they often provide quick access to the item you need.

Important:

The search uses all text associated with a product, not just the product name. This means if you search for a word (e.g., mat), results may include other products where that word appears in the description, even if they are not mats.

Example:

If the model selection option is not working or the list of models is too extensive, you can combine the model name with the product term in your search.

For instance: “Ateca partition guard”

This will help narrow down results to model-specific products quickly.

Tip 3: When PIP Site Does Not Operate as Expected

Occasionally, the PIP site may not function as expected—for example, the search bar may appear unresponsive, or the model filter may fail to reset. These issues are often caused by:

  • Cookies stored on your device
  • The GRP system logging out or timing out

Recommended Actions:

  1. Clear your browser history and cookies.

  2. Close your browser completely, then reopen it and log back into GRP/PIP.

If the issue persists after these steps, raise a support ticket as you would for other systems.

Tip 4: Unknown Product Names

Some factory product names may be more formal than the terms you would typically use. However, you do not need to know the exact product name to find what you’re looking for. PIP 2.0 offers multiple ways to locate products:

Option 1: Use Sales Categories

Navigate to the Sales Category menu in the top navigation bar to browse the full product range.

Products are automatically allocated to a primary Sales Category based on their HPG classification.

Some products may appear in more than one category if appropriate (for example, an item that provides both styling and protection may appear in both categories).

Tip: Apply the model filter before selecting a Sales Category to view only products suitable for that model.

Option 2: Search by Key Term

The search function scans all text in a product’s description, not just the product name

For example, searching for “Charging” will return a range of products related to the product.

Tip 5: Favourite Products

To make it easier to find products in the future, save your favourite items to your Wish List.

Your saved products can be accessed by clicking the heart icon located at the top right of the page.
